Founding Partners

The three founding partners of the Gola Rainforest Company Limited by Guarantee (GRC-LG) comprise the Government of Sierra Leone (which is represented by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change), the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (a UK-based non-governmental organization), and the Conservation Society of Sierra Leone. Each of these organisations appoints one person as a representative Member of GRC-LG. Decision-making by the Members is generally reserved for the major governance issues of the company. 

The company has four Directors, which together form the Board of Directors. Directors are elected at each annual general meeting (AGM) and serve a term lasting until the next AGM. At each AGM, one Director is appointed by each Member, while a fourth is appointed by the GRNP Paramount Chiefs Council to act as their representative.
